First NL athletes due back in province today from Canada Games


Team Newfoundland and Labrador have won a record-breaking number of medals at a Canada Games and in the pool for swimming athletes in its first week of the Games. On Thursday night alone swimming athletes received three medals.


Today, athletes who competed in week one will return home to the province. The first flight will arrive this morning at the St. John’s International Airport.


Approximately 150 athletes, coaches, support staff, and mission staff representing Team NL will be arriving back in the province today after a week of competition in Niagara, Ontario.
