Federal budget released #CDNpoli

The Liberals introduced the federal budget on Monday.

The 739-page budget was tabled by Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland.

The highlights include:

• $30 billion over the span of five years for a national child care system.

• $101.4 billion in spending over three years to kick-start the economy and transition to a green economy.

• $18 billion for healthier Indigenous communities.

• Funds were also allocated to deal with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

• The deficit stands at $354.2 billion for 2020 and $154.7 billion for 2021 to 2022.
