Eight people named to Order of Newfoundland and Labrador

Eight people will be named to the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador.

Of the new members are Dr. Janice Fitzgerald and Dr. Proton Rahman, both were familiar faces during the daily COVID-19 briefings.

An investiture ceremony will be held on September 28, 2022, at the Government House.

Other members include Robert Cormier, Catherine Donovan, Alan Doyle, Carla Furlong, Joseph Goudie, and Maxwell Short.

The Order of Newfoundland and Labrador is the province’s highest honour and recognizes individuals who have demonstrated excellence and achievement in any field of endeavour benefiting in an exemplary manner the province and its residents.

This is the 15th investiture ceremony since the first appointments were made in 2004, bringing the total number of recipients to 135.
