North Atlantic says that back on April 13, an employee's email account was accessed by an unauthorized third party.

The company said in a statement that, "the unauthorized third party downloaded information from the email account."

Customers are encouraged to monitor accounts and notify their financial institutions should they notice any suspicious activity.

Some customers have received emails from the unauthorized user.

NARL says it will directly notify individuals whose personal information is involved.

The incident has been reported to both the Federal Privacy Commissioner and the RCMP.

Anyone who believes they may be impacted by the incident can contact North Atlantic at communications@northatlantic.ca.
