For the first time this season the Canadian Coast Guard is conducting ice-breaking activity for the Qajaq W.

The CCGS Henry Larsen was dispatched to assist. Heavy ice was making it difficult for the ferry to move on Friday.

The vessel is currently at port in Blanc-Sablon.

The Qajaq W sails on the Strait of Belle Isle between Labrador and Newfoundland.
