Brazil raising alarm about number of vacant NLHC units

PC leader David Brazil is raising the alarm about recent information that shows hundreds of low-income housing units across the province are vacant.

Through an access to information request, Brazil says as of July 26 there are 143 vacant homes at the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation.

Those units are “in various stages of repair process,” according to the documents. Another 213 units are “selected, pending selection or no demand.”

This comes as Ukrainians are seeking housing as well as students and residents.
