Bob Barker has died at the age of 99



Bob Barker, who hosted The Price is Right from 1972 to 2007 has died. He was 99.


Barker was also host of the game show Truth or Consequences from 1956 to 1975.


He was born on December 12, 1923 in Darrington, Washington.


Barker joined the United States Navy Reserve during World War II. He worked part-time in radio while attending college. In 1950, he moved to California to pursue a broadcasting career.


As an animal rights advocate, Barker was a vegetarian. He would end every episode of The Price Is Right with the phrase: "This is Bob Barker reminding you to help control the pet population — have your pets spayed or neutered."
