Bay St. George & Corner Brook RCMP seize four vehicles over the weekend #nltraffic

The RCMP from Bay St. George and Corner Brook detachments seized four vehicles over the weekend for various traffic offences.

On Saturday RCMP observed a vehicle that failed to stop at two stop signs. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 30-year-old Stephenville man, was driving with a suspended license and expired registration. He was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act for those offences.

Approximately three hours later, Bay St. George RCMP observed a vehicle driving erratically on St. Stephen’s Street in Stephenville. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 24-year-old Flat Rock man, showed signs of alcohol impairment. He provided a roadside breath sample that was above the limit and was issued a seven-day driving suspension.

On Sunday evening Corner Brook RCMP stopped a vehicle on the Main Road in Benoit’s Cove. The driver, a 50-year-old Benoit’s Cove man, showed signs of alcohol impairment. He provided a roadside breath sample that was above the limit and was issued a seven-day driving suspension.

Approximately one hour later, Corner Brook RCMP conducted another traffic stop on the Main Road in Benoit’s Cove. The driver, a 19-year-old Corner Brook man, was operating a vehicle without insurance or registration, alone with a learners permit. He was ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act for those offences.

All four vehicles were seized and impounded.
