Baie Verte RCMP arrests impaired driver

On Thursday afternoon the RCMP arrested a 56-year-old man for impaired driving after receiving a tip from the public.

Officers conducted a patrol and located the vehicle in Westport.

The driver exhibited signs of alcohol impairment and was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit.

The accused was released from custody and will appear in court at a later date. Additionally, his driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
