United States Conducts Airstrike Killing Top Iranian General
The United States has conducted an airstrike that killed a top Iranian general.
Qasem Soleimani, who was head of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Quds Force unit, was killed in a drone strike that took place at the Baghdad airport on Friday.
The deputy head of Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces was also killed.
U.S. President Donald Trump ordered the strike.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is calling for revenge.
All U.S. citizens are being ordered to leave Iraq.
Russia said that the United States made a mistake. Ministry of Foreign Affairs spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the United States action will “hit millions of people.”
