UN Report Says Drastic Action Needed Now on Climate Change

A new report released by the United Nations says without drastic action the Earth will warm by 3.2°C in less than 100 years.

The 168-page report released by the United Nations Environment Programme and compiled by 57 leading scientists from 33 institutions across 25 countries says that we must take drastic action within the next decade.

The report also says that over the past 10 years greenhouse gas emissions have increased 1.5 percent and by 2030, annual emissions need to be 15 gigatonnes of CO2 lower to reach the 2°C goal

Warming modifies rainfall patterns, amplifies coastal erosion, lengthens the growing season in some regions, melts ice caps and glaciers, and alters the ranges of some infectious diseases. Some of these changes are already occurring.
