Over 100 People Killed in Flooding in Northern India


Monsoon clouds over Lucknow

Over 100 people have died due to flooding in northern India.

Most of the fatalities were caused by homes collapsing, lightning and drowning in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Officials have evacuated over 3,000 people.

The City of Varanasi received 190 mm of rain on Thursday and Friday.

Schools were closed in Lucknow, Amethi, and Hardoi.

So far this monsoon season over 350 people have been killed by flooding in India, Nepal, and Bangladesh.

Moonsoon reason runs from June through September.
