Lewisporte Residents to Receive Improved Water Services
Both the Federal and Provincial Governments have announced more than $2.1 million in joint funding to improve potable water service in the town of Lewisporte.
Derek Bennett, MHA for Lewisporte - Twillingate, was joined in Lewisporte for the announcement by Scott Simms, MP for Coast of Bays–Central–Notre Dame; and Betty Clarke, Mayor of Lewisporte.
The Provincial Government is investing over $1 million and the Federal Government will contribute up to $733,000 to this project through the Provincial-Territorial Infrastructure Component—National Regional Projects. The Town of Lewisporte will contribute the remainder of project costs.
Project work includes adding a secondary water storage tank and twinned water main to the current water distribution system. This work will lay the foundation for expanding reliable and efficient water distribution to unserviced residents and neighbourhoods, and will improve overall water services in the town.
