Labrador West Man Charged with Impersonating Peace Officer

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary in Labrador West Region has charged a Labrador City resident with Impersonating a Peace Officer.

On July 7, 2018 at approximately 3:00 p.m. RNC Patrol Services responded to a two vehicle collision on Grenfell Drive, Labrador City. During the investigation it was alleged that after the collision had occurred one of the drivers involved in the collision had identified himself as a police officer to two persons at the collision scene prior to police arrival.

As a result of an investigation, a 40 year old male resident of Labrador City was arrested and charged with two counts of Impersonating a Peace Officer under the Criminal Code, he was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Imprudent Driving and Backing Vehicle While Unsafe to Do So.

The accused will appear in Provincial Court at a later date to answer to the charges.
