Placentia Regatta Underway

The Placentia Regatta is in full swing today.

The forecast called for a few showers and a risk of thunderstorms but the race is underway.

The races began at 8:00 am. The championship rows at 6:00 for women and 6:30 for men.

Opening Ceremonies for Placentia Regatta took place at 8:00 pm at the Placentia Regatta Site last night featuring hot dogs, drink, live music with fireworks at dusk.

Today is a full day of racing along with games of chance, food, a beer tent with live music from 1:30 pm – 4:00 pm.

If the weather co-operates the Harbour Grace Regatta take place next weekend and the St. John`s Regatta kicks off on August 2nd.
