Winter Parking Restrictions in St. John's

From now until March 31 parking is prohibited 24 hours a day on streets designated as ‘No Parking Snow Route’ in St. John's.

These streets are marked with signs.

The winter On-Street Parking Restriction for streets outside the designated downtown area will come into effect at 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 5.

The restriction is in effect daily, and tickets can be issued to vehicles parked on the street between 12:30 and 7:30 a.m., regardless of weather and street conditions.

A new parking restriction was introduced last year for areas outside the Downtown and Business District. The 24-Hours per day Parking Restriction will be declared as needed. The goal of the restriction is to remove vehicles from on-street parking to enhance the efficiency of snow clearing operations. Once declared, the restriction will be in place for 24-hours a day until it is lifted.
