The RCMP in Clarenville arrested a driver travelling 53 km/h above the speed limit and who was impaired last Tuesday.
Police were on patrol near the community of Sunnyside when they saw a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed.
When police stopped the driver, he failed a roadside breath test.
The 45-year-old Mount Pearl resident was released from custody with a future court date.
He was also ticketed for speeding, failing to stop at a stop sign, and having studded tires.
He was also issued tickets for having open alcohol in a vehicle and having cannabis readily available in a vehicle.
The car was seized and his licence was suspended.
