Driver caught owing $15K in fines

RCMP in Glovertown stopped a speeding vehicle that landed a man in a whole lot of trouble.

Police observed a vehicle speeding on the TCH east of Gambo. A traffic stop was conducted and found that the driver was suspended from driving in relation to outstanding fines of nearly $15,000.

A passenger in the vehicle offered to take over driving and police found that he was also suspended from driving and owed nearly $10,000 in fines of his own.

The driver now faces charges of speeding and driving while suspended.

The vehicle was seized and impounded.
