CNN Terminates Don Lemon

Longtime CNN host Don Lemon has been fired.

In a message on Twitter Lemon said he was informed by his agent that he has been terminated. He was with the network for 17 years.

In the statement, Lemon said, "There are some larger issues at play."

The New York Times reported that CNN was experiencing difficulty in booking guests willing to appear on-air with Lemon. His popularity among viewers had also declined.

Chris Licht said, "CNN and Don have parted ways," the statement added that CNN This Morning will continue.

A reason for the termination was not given.
