Big drop in furnace oil price

The Public Utilities Board has intervened to change the price of furnace oil heating fuel.

On Thursday the price decreased by 1.01 cents per litre. Today the price has dropped another 16.42 cents per litre.

The PUB said that the maximum prices reflect the change in the average benchmark price of the products since the Board last adjusted maximum prices on Thursday.

This adjustment changes the maximum prices to 129.72 cents on the Avalon, 133.72 in central, and 130.62 in the Deer Lake and Corner Brook area.
