Applications Now Available for Oil to Electric Rebate Program

The Provincial Government has allocated $1 million for the program to provide a rebate of up to $2,500 for homeowners to transition from oil to electricity.

To be eligible a homeowner must have consumed at least 1,000 litres of heating fuel oil in the past 12 months and the homeowner must remove the existing oil tank from the property.

The program will be administered by Newfoundland and Labrador Hydro.

The dwelling must be connected on the island interconnected grid or Labrador interconnected electrical grid, and the dwelling must be existing and be used year-round.
