It is going to be a very blustery day across Newfoundland and Labrador.
Most schools in western Newfoundland are closed. Several businesses are also closed. In Labrador, there are a few school closures too.
In western Labrador, 15 to 25 cm of snow combined with wind gusts to 90 km/h are expected today. In Nain and Natuashish another 10 to 15 cm of snow are expected plus wind gusts to 80 km/h.
Along the west coast of Newfoundland, 20 to 30 cm of snow is expected along with wind gusts to 100 km/h. Conditions will improve after Tuesday evening.
Snow squalls are possible in central Newfoundland also with 10 to 15 cm expected. Snow squalls are expected to continue until Tuesday morning.

On the Avalon Peninsula, snow squalls are also expected this morning until this evening. 5 to 10 cm of snow is expected.
Road conditions are deteriorating in some areas very quickly. If you have to travel, exercise caution.
The Qajaq W departures for today have been cancelled.
Marine Atlantic has cancelled ferry crossings for this morning. Weather permitting, those crossings will take place tonight. However, due to adverse weather conditions, crossings for tonight and Tuesday may also be cancelled.
